ABA Therapy
Program Objective
The overarching objectives of ABA therapy offers a comprehensive approach to support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Firstly, the program aims to significantly enhance their communication skills, fostering both verbal and non-verbal communication abilities and facilitating more effective social interactions.
Secondly, it strives to develop social skills, equipping individuals with ASD to recognize social cues, engage appropriately in social interactions, and cultivate meaningful relationships with peers and caregivers. Furthermore, ABA therapy is dedicated to reducing or eliminating challenging behaviors frequently associated with ASD, such as tantrums, aggression, self-injury, and repetitive behaviors, through the identification of triggers and the implementation of effective behavior management strategies.
Lastly, the program seeks to enhance adaptive skills, encompassing daily living skills like self-care, hygiene, and independent functioning, with the ultimate goal of promoting greater independence and self-sufficiency in individuals with ASD.
Program Activities
Individualized Assessment
ABA therapy begins with a thorough assessment of the individual's strengths, weaknesses, and specific needs. This assessment guides the development of a tailored treatment plan.
Targeted Interventions
ABA therapists use evidence-based strategies to target specific behaviors and skills. These interventions are designed to be highly structured and systematic, breaking down complex skills into manageable steps.
Positive Reinforcement
Positive reinforcement is a central component of ABA therapy. It involves providing rewards or praise to reinforce desired behaviors, making them more likely to occur in the future.
